How do I start organizing my closet?

• If you have many short items of clothing to hang, you can literally duplicate your storage space by adding a double hanging rod.
• Store your empty hangers in a basket on the floor of your closet area and not on the rod; you have no idea how much space they occupy.
• Take time out to purge your closet of things you don't use; schedule at least an hour this weekend and get rid of: clothes that don't fit, are stained, uncomfortable shoes, ripped socks or those missing their pair, bags and boxes you think you're going to recycle for gifts.
